What you'll do at

• Expert knowledge of TCP/IP and BGP
• Strong working knowledge of MPLS, ISIS, OSPF, LDP/Segment Routing, MPLS VPN, QoS, and IPv6
• Experience with the design, build, and testing of large global network environments (MPLS in an Enterprise or Service Provider is a plus)
• Experience creating designs – including gathering requirements, vendor evaluation and selection, data-driven POCs, load testing, vendor interoperability, initial pilots, and iterative designs
• Strong understanding of dark and lit fiber transport with short, long, and extended reach optics
• Understanding of transport technologies (e.g. CWDM/DWDM) and vendors utilizing 10/40/100Gig Ethernet
• Excellent analytic and troubleshooting skills for problems that span multiple domains (application, network, system, hardware)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience presenting highly conceptual designs to executives, management, architects, and engineers
• Strong understanding of network management and automation principles

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and 7 years experience in information technology or related field within the last 11 years OR 9 years experience in information technology or related field within the last 11 years.

Preferred Qualifications

• CCNP or higher level of certification
• Understanding the current state of the Internet’s significant players and quality between vendors
• Experience with public cloud provider connectivity models
• Experience with metro, LH and/or ULH DWDM transport systems
• Experience with any of the following is highly desirable: Linux systems, programming and scripting (Python, Go, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, NETCONF, etc.)
• Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (Splunk, Statseeker, Cisco Prime, AppResponse Xpert, Wireshark, etc.)
• Knowledge of SD-WAN technology

Strong knowledge of Layer 1 through Layer 4 networking. Position requires understanding of long-haul networking. Data Center to Data Center Connectivity and providing Cloud Connectivity for business services.
