The Customer Experience Tools team is responsible for building a set of multi-tenant consumer site management and optimization tools that integrate with Walmart’s front-end eCommerce desktop and mobile applications. These tools provide efficiencies that let business user expedite publishing so they can rapidly respond to customer requests and keep site content fresh. The suite includes tools for content management, taxonomy management, URL redirect rule management, experimentation (A/B testing), campaign planning, asset management, and an internal tools portal.

We are a team of software engineers, architects, technical project managers, and product managers working together to design, build, and deliver next-generation business tools and services that power the merchandising of ecommerce sites at global scale. This position is based in the WalmartLabs office in Carlsbad, CA.

• The technical product manager will be responsible for a portfolio of software tools and services and work with the engineering team to own the product from end to end and cradle to grave
• Understand the problems and opportunities faced by a broad spectrum of internal customers across global markets and boil them down to define and drive implementation for a scalable, multi-tenant solution
• Build solid partnerships with Experience Tools engineering, business teams, WalmartLabs product teams, and business leadership to deliver products that make them all happy
• Define and document detailed product requirements, functional specifications, and visual design / UX concepts (e.g., wireframes) for web applications
• Develop feature implementation plans, working with cross-functional teams through the development and deployment lifecycle
• Devise and champion a vision, strategy, and roadmap for your products to support team and company goals and objectives

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience building enterprise software solutions for business (not just consumer apps)
• Technical acumen with an ability to understand technology solutions, apply them to business problems, and make the appropriate tradeoffs
• Skilled at setting priorities and making tradeoffs for product development to meet deadlines
• Experience managing products with multiple dependencies (on other teams or projects)
• Can speak fluently to business customers and engineering teams alike, with ability to communicate technology concepts to business users and vice versa
• Self-motivated, driven, and comfortable working independently
• Efficiently produce clear, thoughtful documentation (requirements, functional specs, user stories, presentations, etc.)
• Facility and productivity with the software tools of the trade (e.g., Microsoft Office and Outlook, issue tracking systems, wikis/document sharing)
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills appropriate for a range of audiences
• Healthy tolerance for uncertainty
• Understanding problems, opportunities, and perceived needs across a spectrum of customers and designing elegant solutions to satisfy them
• Building solutions for internal business users
• Roadmap responsibility across multiple products
• Familiarity with large-scale distributed multi-tenant systems based on service-oriented architectures
• Experience managing ecommerce, consumer websites, and/or platform-level enterprise software
• Experience developing products using Agile methodology
• Experience managing software platform products to support global business operations

Preferred Qualifications

• Startup experience and entrepreneurial spirit
• Familiarity with mobile solutions, both mWeb and native apps
