Walmart is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions aligned with platform and business objectives. About the team:
The Technology Team leads Walmart’s digital transformation by creating innovative solutions that enhance customer experience and optimize operations. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software projects on schedule. The team emphasizes collaborative engineering, continuous improvement, and technical excellence, applying best practices in coding, testing, and deployment. Members engage in problem-solving, iterative development, and integration of advanced technologies to support scalable and maintainable systems. This team fosters a product-driven approach, ensuring alignment with broader platform goals while maintaining a strong focus on delivering reliable and efficient solutions.
What you'll do:
- Architect, supervise, and develop TV OS software for next-generation platforms and hardware.
- Develop and port OS features for smart TVs, including audio, video, USB, HDMI and external and peripherals.
- Support development of new application features across the various stacks within the smart TV OS.
- Oversee the abstraction layer between TV hardware and applications to ensure seamless integration.
- Implement hardware automation testing to guarantee robust and reliable performance.
- Lead sustenance engineering efforts for existing HAL layers and supporting applications, Linux-based OS, focusing on improvements, bug fixes, and new feature development
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.
- Strong experience delivering scoped features through collaborative engineering teams.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages including JavaScript, Python, Java, and C++.
- Demonstrated ability to drive full software development lifecycle with CI/CD and automated testing.
- Skilled in code review, debugging, and defect management to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance development.
- Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software aligned with platform objectives.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
