What you'll do...

Position Summary Lead the future of automation planning within Walmart's supply chain network. As Senior Manager, Production & Planning - Automation Operations, you'll serve as the critical link between engineering, operations, and planning teams, transforming forecasts, capacity insights, and automation data into strategies that optimize throughput, labor, cost, and customer service. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to shape a growing capability that will influence how automated facilities operate today and scale for tomorrow.  About Supply Chain Walmart Supply Chain powers one of the world's largest and most complex fulfillment networks. As automation continues to transform our operations, we're building new planning capabilities that help facilities anticipate demand, manage capacity, and maximize automation performance. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, and analytics, partnering with site leadership and Home Office teams to solve complex challenges, improve network performance, and drive long-term operational success.  What You'll Do
  • Develop production and labor plans across multiple shifts and planning horizons to optimize throughput, inventory availability, and customer fulfillment.
  • Analyze forecasts, capacity constraints, automation performance, downtime schedules, and inventory flow to identify risks before they impact operations.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, maintenance, process teams, and Home Office stakeholders to create strategies that balance service, labor, throughput, and cost.
  • Monitor KPIs including OEE, throughput, fill rate, fault rates, and cost-per-case while identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Provide scenario-based recommendations that help leaders make informed decisions and execute against short-term priorities while planning for future demand.
What You'll Bring
  • Experience in production planning, demand planning, manufacturing, automation, fulfillment, distribution, or other capacity-driven operational environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience evaluating forecasts, resource utilization, throughput, labor requirements, and operational constraints.
  • Ability to develop scenario-based recommendations and make sound decisions when balancing competing operational priorities.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders and driving execution through partnership and collaboration.
  • Proven success operating in fast-paced, evolving environments where initiative, ownership, and independent problem-solving are critical.
