What you'll do...
About the role We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Operations – Workforce Intelligence to help shape how labor is generated, allocated, and optimized across Walmart stores. In this role, you’ll lead the design and governance of labor generation business rules, partner across Operations and HR, and use data and financial insights to ensure stores are staffed effectively balancing customer needs, associate experience, and budget targets. What you’ll do- Own labor generation design & allocation: Develop and maintain labor generation guidance and business rules that support multiple store departments.
- Drive long-term workforce strategy: Align labor allocation to company goals, operational needs, and budget constraints.
- Translate business needs into plans: Analyze objectives, customer needs, costs, and forecasts; build and communicate strategies that improve outcomes.
- Manage labor financial performance: Support labor budget allocation, track labor cost and productivity metrics, and recommend adjustments to meet targets.
- Improve workforce management processes: Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and/or improve associate satisfaction through better scheduling and labor practices.
- Stay ahead of trends & technology: Monitor emerging tools and best practices in scheduling, labor analytics, and workforce planning.
- Ensure compliance & mitigate risk: Help ensure labor practices comply with applicable labor laws and agreements; proactively address labor shortages, imbalances, and compliance risks.
- Support engagement & retention: Monitor engagement signals tied to scheduling/allocation and help improve morale and retention.
- Strong working knowledge of labor management practices, including forecasting, scheduling, budgeting, and task management systems.
- Ability to translate business objectives, operational needs, and store-level data into clear system requirements and scalable business rules.
- Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capabilities (data analysis, modeling, and data manipulation).
- Familiarity with Industrial Engineering concepts (labor standards, MOST, time studies) and how they inform labor generation and productivity.
- Experience using business intelligence/analytics tools to monitor labor productivity, efficiency trends, and to recommend adjustments.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional partners and support change adoption across Operations, HR, and other stakeholders.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a track record of driving process efficiency and/or improving associate experience (e.g., scheduling, work-life balance).
- Strong judgment and commitment to integrity, ethics, and compliance, including awareness of labor law considerations and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate and influence across functions with clear, positive communication
- Think strategically using data, analytics, and customer insights
- Lead with curiosity, resilience, and a continuous improvement mindset
- Model servant leadership and champion Walmart’s culture, values, and integrity

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
