Position Summary...
Supplier Excellence exists to make Walmart the retailer of choice for suppliers by simplifying and accelerating the supplier experience, improving enablement, and strengthening relationships—so suppliers can help deliver the company strategy. We build scalable, people-led/tech-powered supplier engagement models across the lifecycle (onboarding, collaboration, performance, and support), with success measured by outcomes like speed-to-site, self-serve resolution, supplier sentiment, and performance transparency.Supplier Excellence is building a unified way to measure supplier performance, run operating rhythm, and improve relationships by standardizing how we use existing scorecards, segmentation, and disciplined follow-through.
What you'll do...
- Assess and critique existing supplier scorecards and KPI dashboards across the enterprise (including Marketplace): validate metric definitions, data lineage, refresh cadence, and usability; identify gaps and redundancies.
- Establish scorecard governance and decision rights (owners, forums, change control, refresh cadence, versioning) to enable consistent performance management.
- Define and drive a standard scorecard framework (metric taxonomy, definitions, required views) and partner with data/BI and business owners to rationalize and align existing scorecards into a single ‘one best way’ view—using standard work and process mapping to ensure consistency and adoption.
- Lead MBR/QBR routines; ensure follow-through on insights, actions, and decisions.
- Own the process to take supplier issues from intake to triage to closure (including escalations and follow-up).
- Build supplier segmentation and intelligence (scale, capability, performance, sentiment) to prioritize interventions; translate insights into supplier development plans and track impact.
How you’ll know you’re winning (success measures)
- Reduced duplication and conflict across scorecards (common definitions, clear owners, predictable refresh cadence).
- Higher adoption of standard scorecard views in MBR/QBR and day-to-day decision making.
- Faster issue resolution cycle time and measurable improvements in targeted supplier performance outcomes.
What you’ll bring...
- 6+ years in performance management, analytics, business operations, or category/supplier management.
- Working knowledge of how scorecards are built and maintained (metric definition, data sources/lineage, QA, refresh cadence, governance) and ability to critique scorecard quality.
- Experience driving standardization across multiple existing artifacts: aligning definitions, resolving conflicting KPIs, and establishing clear ownership and operating rules.
- Strong ability to translate measurement into executive-ready narratives and action plans tied to an operating rhythm (MBR/QBR).
- Comfort partnering with BI/data teams and influencing without authority; able to drive action to closure.
- Preferred: background in Industrial Engineering, Operations Excellence, or Process Improvement; experience designing standard work/governance for performance systems (KPIs/scorecards).
- Bonus: segmentation, CRM/relationship tooling, process improvement (Lean/Six Sigma).
