What you'll do...

Position: Senior Software Engineer

Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089

Duties: Analyze business and software requirements to determine the feasibility of designs within time and cost constraints for Walmart's systems. Design, develop, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of the design. Develop complex algorithms to fulfill customer item requirements by reducing shipping cost and ensuring fast delivery. Provide support to the business by responding to user questions, concerns, and issues (for example, technical feasibility, and implementation strategies) and identifying short and long-term solutions facilitating resolutions and leading cross-functional partnership. Migrate existing Legacy System to high performance System on the cloud. Create new implementations and modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve its performance. Implement Big Data Spark jobs to process large amounts of data to HDFS for analytics, data migration, and data issues. Write and perform Unit Test, Functional Test, Integration Test, and Sanity Test for new features and enhancement necessary to provide smooth transition and progress. Maintain and optimize internal systems such as Kafka, Solr, Cassandra, and Spark Jobs to prevent and solve application issues. Develop, execute, and improve action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices, supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs, and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders. Identify business needs by determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices, monitoring progress and results, recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities, and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related area and 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related area and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area.

Skills required: Experience coding in object-oriented programming language Java. Experience designing and implementing REST API web services using Java Spring. Experience with noSQL databases and Cosmos DB. Experience designing and implementing Kafka for applications. Experience designing and implementing Cassandra DB, Distributed L2 Caching. Experience writing Unit Tests, Functional Tests, and Integration Tests. Experience implementing and integrating application and system metrics monitoring. Experience providing production support and fixing coding problems for customer facing issues. Experience deploying containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $117,000/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
