What you'll do...
As the Sr. Manager, Creative Tools, you and your team will provide subject matter expertise on creative technology solutions, including AI solutions, for our large group of creatives, producers, strategists, creative project managers, and creative account managers. You will consult with internal teams and partners to identify needs & gaps, recommend creative technical solutions, and establish tool roadmaps in support of Walmart Creative. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to define our ecosystem needs, requirements, interdependencies, risks, implementation, and operations for creative tooling and governance. You will also guide the processes for internal support and training of current and new tools. As part of the Creative Business Operations & Strategy team, this role works closely with creative, design, production, and creative operations teams to advance the group’s ways of working for optimal innovation, efficiency, and measurement. This role is also responsible for partnering with other business units, such as the MarTech & GlobalTech teams, to advocate for creative tools and scale best practices, and to align on integrated processes and interdependencies. A strict technological background is not a necessity. Most important is the interest and ability to manage and deliver on a roadmap for technological development, as well as skill in bridging the distinct worlds of technology and creative. We’re looking for someone who has a love of technology and creative, a desire to learn, as well as an interest in sharing insights and knowledge with leaders and teammates. Example of duties:- Develop and maintain a strategic direction for creative tooling and processes on behalf of Walmart Creative.
- Act as liaison and subject matter expert to leaders across Creative, Marketing, and Production organizations, providing strategic guidance and support on new tools and systems that increase efficiency and enhance productivity.
- Distill complex technology and infrastructure concepts and strategies into simple, understandable language for a diverse set of partners and collaborators.
- Serve as primary POC for Walmart technology groups (MarTech) to prioritize Walmart Creative needs and requirements, represent our top use cases that require support, scalable guidelines and process governance.
- Partner with Marketing Operations to best align Walmart Creative tool strategy and processes to broader best practices and systems.
- Define internal use cases, configurations, support, and process training for Walmart Creative tools.
- Help report on status of tool assessments, implementation, operations and system performance to leadership and partners.
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies; research and develop data-based techniques to audit and optimize creative tools.
- Codify and manage internal process for tool considerations, business justifications, and roll outs.
- Manage the Creative Tools Ops Manager and Creative Tools Coordinators, providing direction, prioritization, and mentorship.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, product management, technology project management, or similar, OR 6+ years as a Creative Technologist or Marketing Technology expert.
- 4+ years of experience in project management, or related field.
- Deep comprehension of platforms utilized by world-class advertising, creative, and production teams, and how to design, onboard, deploy, operate and gain value from platforms and vendor relationships (including Adobe WorkFront, Adobe Creative Suite, AEM, Figma, Ikonik, ShotFlow, LucidLink, Workhorse).
- Familiarity with APIs, enterprise-level solutioning, and the development of proprietary software.
- Strong appreciation for, and understanding of, AI and the potential it unlocks for creative workflows.
- Strategic attitude, able to keep things moving while maintaining a vision of the bigger picture and define a path forward that delivers incremental value along the way.
- Understands how to navigate and drive influence in a large, complex marketing organization.
- Proactive, comfortable with ambiguity, and flexible in the face of shifting client needs due to the rapidly changing nature of the technology space.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent soft skills (persuasion, communication, and presentation) and proven relationship-building skills.
- Strong appreciation for the role technology plays in elevating design and experience innovation.
- Marketing/creative agency experience -- in-house, even better
- Experience in the Marketing, Retail or eComm industry
- Experience in large matrixed organizations
