What you'll do...
VIZIO/Walmart is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Android Engineer to join our Mobile Engineering team, building cutting-edge mobile applications that power the VIZIO experience across smartphones and tablets. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver high-performance, user-centric features using modern Android technologies.Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and MVVM architecture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Write clean, scalable, and testable code following best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentoring junior developers.
- Integrate with backend services and SDKs, including VIZIO’s proprietary APIs and HubSDK.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and app infrastructure improvements.
- Stay current with the latest Android development trends and advocate for their adoption.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and modern Android frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and Android Architecture Components.
- Deep understanding of MVVM, dependency injection (e.g., Hilt/Dagger), and reactive programming.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and third-party SDK integrations.
- Familiarity with tools like Git, Gradle, Android Studio, and CI/CD systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on media or streaming apps.
- Familiarity with multi-module architecture and Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM).
- Knowledge of accessibility, localization, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Firebase, analytics, and crash reporting tools.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
